2014 will bring the releasing of his fifth solo album "Forty Days and Forty Nights" from his label Alkebulan Records/Film. King Ayoola is bringing new awareness of self love and community empowerment. From on the shores of Nigeria he is a first generation African born on Turtle Island. Raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for most of his youth, it was there that his love of music began as he was immersed in the cultural music scene. Performing by the young age of 3 years old, young King was taught by his father who was a cultural roots musician and his mother, a keyboardist and vocalist. They impressed their influence into their fifth born King early in his life.

After being certified in Radio Communication Retail and marketing at the academy of career training college in Philadelphia, Pa. between 1986-1987, King took to the airwaves working as a DJ with North Carolina radio stations WDUR- DURHAM, WXDU- DUKE, WKNC- NC STATE, WNCU-NC CENTRAL, and WCOM – CARRBORO. King became known in the south as "Big Country" and "Mr. Radio Personality". That recognition inspired him to attend Time Warner Production Workshop in Chapel Hill, N.C. With this training he produced the longest running Reggae TV video show in North Carolina titled Reggae Live Wire. Revered by the city as one of the founding fathers of roots and culture in North Carolina’s media, King recently received Durham NC’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
